Congress using newly enacted Farm Bills for political advantages: Kavinder
10/11/2020 10:23:23 PM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Oct 11: Former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta slammed the Opposition parties for opposing the Farm Bills, terming it as truly reformist and revolutionary.
While addressing a Kissan Rally at Village Langar in Kalu Chak here today, the senior BJP leader said that the Farm Bills related to the empowerment of the farmers are truly reformist and revolutionary. He said that the new legislation will allow farmers to sell their produce outside of APMC-regulated Mandis, and rid them of middlemen interference. By opposing these Bills, the Congress is only disrupting all round development of farmers,” he charged.
The former Deputy Chief Minister said the Congress is only protesting for middlemen and is lying that MSP will be eliminated, APMC Mandis will be removed and farmers will become weak due to negotiation issues with the corporates and will not be able to decide the price.
“Congress is only lying about agricultural laws for its political interests. It is a lie that the MSP and Mandi system will be ended. Congress is saying that farmers will become weak in contractual agriculture agreement and fixing prices. Today, the farmer knows which law is in his hands and what kind of politics the Congress is doing,” Kavinder said.
