Property tax in J&K anti-people, unacceptable: AAP
10/11/2020 11:52:55 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Oct 11: Terming the recently issued order pertaining to the introduction of property tax on Jammu and Kashmir residents as anti-people, the J&K unit of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said that the BJP has imposed a ‘’jazia’’ on public in the garb of property tax. Demanding that it must be revoked immediately, the AAP leader Gurmeet Singh said that instead of providing more central funds for J&K to boost up economic activity and post-lockdown issues the government has imposed property tax which is gross injustice with the people of Union Territory.
AAP leader and President Nowjan Sabha, Mehar Singh said the imposition of the property tax is unjustifiable as the people are already facing lot of problems due to COVID-19 and lockdowns and by these laws the people of Union Territory of J&K will suffer more, adding that imposition of property tax is unacceptable. While AAP leader Sher Singh said that the new order issued for the imposition of property tax in Jammu and Kashmir will leave the crises ridden economy in doldrums, make people suffer on multiple fronts and plunge them into an inexplicable morass of uncertainty and chaos.
AAP J&K asked the Central Government and Administration of JKUT to look into the matter and immediately revoke the property tax order.
