Students protest against JKBOSE, demand 50% cut off in syllabus

Kishtwar, Oct 21: The students of Government Higher Secondary School Boys Kishtwar today held a strong protest against JKBOSE for preponing of the exams for 10th and 12th class and tried to block the main road outside the school which was prevented by the police officials present at the spot.
As per the details available with Early Times, the angry student assembled inside the school premises and raised slogans against the JKBOSE for playing with the future of the students. The students tried to march towards the main road, but the heavy police presence at the spot prevented the attempt of the students to stop the vehicular movement on every busy road of Kishtwar town.
Speaking to Early Times, the angry students inform that JKBOSE had decided to hold practical examinations before the commencement of the theory papers. They said that due to internet blockade and COVID 19, they fail to complete the syllabus as well as to take the practical class added that the areas like Marwah, Warwan, Dachhan and some areas of Padder are without Internet and telecommunication as a result of which the students belong from these areas even fail to take online classes.
They said that Marwah and Warwan areas also had no electricity connectivity added that how could these students take practical exams as well a JKBOSE exams.
They said that the preponement of examination has been done keeping in view of some proposed elections and term the move of JKBOSE unwarranted and termed it as playing with the future of the students for the sake of elections and once again demanded for 50% syllabus cut along with postponement of the practical exams which according to them must be held after the papers.
The students also meet visiting officer Sheikh Faiz Ahmed, Commissioner Secretary Floriculture requesting him to convey the grievances of the students to the government.
They threaten to intensify the agitation in case JKBOSE take the demand of the students for granted.
