Marlan Club Ramban clinches Volleyball tournament trophy at Pernote

RAMBAN, Oct, 24: First Volleyball Tournament 2020, organized jointly by IRP 16th Battalion and Youth Association of Pernote at APC Pernote, in remembrance of Police Martyrs, was won by Marlan Club Ramban .
Eight Volleyball teams of district Ramban participated in the tournament which concluded today.
Final match of the tournament was played between Tiger Club Ramban and Marlan Club Ramban. Marlan Club won the final match by 3-2 sets in nail biting finish.
A Large number of people and prominent citizen including Amrit Versha, Tariq Saleem, Masrat Ahmad Malik, Panches and Sarpanches of Pernote A & B were present on the occasion.
Prize distribution ceremony was conducted in which both the winner and runner up teams were awarded with Winner/Runner-up trophies and cash prize.
Amit Gupta-SSP, Commandant IRP 16th Bn. in his address appreciated all the players for their talent, sportsmanship and playing the game with great zeal and enthusiasm. It was further exhorted upon the youth to stay away from the menace of narcotics and drugs which have ill effects on their health and to remain engaged with sports activities for which IRP 16th Battalion shall provide requisite infrastructure and expertise in the game.
SP (Quarter Master) Jeevan Kumar; Tantray-SP (Adjutant), Reyaz Iqbal and other officers/officials remained actively associated in the successful conduct of the tournament. The teams as well as locals appreciated the efforts of Police in conduct of this tournament and requested for conducting more tournaments in future involving local youth of Ramban.
