Lawyers Action Committee holds protest

Jammu, Oct 28: Continuing its struggle since 15th of October for opening of Courts for lawyers and litigant public, for physical hearings and other demands, the Lawyers Action Committee (LCA) of Advocates BAR Jammu constituted by the Practicing Advocates in High Court and Subordinate Courts in Jammu, held an impressive Dharna in the Janipura Court area today. Besides the lawyers practicing in Jammu High Court and District Courts, the lawyers practicing in Samba District Court and RS Pura Court participated. The participating lawyers were protesting against closure of entry for lawyers and general public to High Court and Subordinate Courts in Jammu Province besides on other issues. The agitating Lawyers are demanding Opening of all courts for physical entry to lawyers and public, resume physical hearing, Accepting hard copies of cases, Opening the locked Bar Rooms of lawyers, Providing stamp papers and tickets within court premises through stamp vendors, Immediately opening of Consumer Courts, Shifting back Registry of Documents to Judicial Officers, Withdrawing contempt initiated against the lawyers and Holding immediate election to the J&K Bar Council.
Addressing the lawyers Dharna, DK Khajuria (Former president Jammu Bar), JA Kazmi (Former vice president Jammu Bar), Subhash Singh Sambyal (senior member and former president of Samba Bar), HC Jalmeria, Usman Salaria (Former vice president Jammu Bar), Vinod Abrol, Sabodh Singh Jamwal, Kuldip Singh Parihar expressed great anguish over the continued silence of the authorities concerned over the demands of the lawyers. They impressed upon the judicial authorities and the UT Government to immediately resolve the issues projected by the agitating lawyers. The people and the practicing lawyers are facing great hardship due to the issues remaining unresolved.
