BMS hold demonstration against central Govt

Jammu, Oct 20: Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) held protest demonstration rally at Bari Brahmana, Kathua and Reasi as part of nation vide call given by the BMS, at industrial complex Bari Brahmana to oppose the central Govt new labour codes.
Addressing the workers senior labour leader Harbans Choudhary said that in labour codes numbers of anti-labour provisions has been incorporated just to appease the employers on the name of ease of doing business as in all the three the labour codes most of the pro workers provisions has been deleted or amended in such a way that it favours the employers introduction of term employment, raising the thresh hold limits under factory act, contract labour act and working journalist and non-journalist rights has been snatched.
“In the present codes and govt is hell bent upon to finish regular employment in all sectors and due to this inequality and difference in rich and poor is widening day by day”, he said, adding that functioning of ESI and PF in Jammu and Kashmir is at grinding halt as medical reimbursement of ESI bills are laying pending since 2018.
“There is a mess in the PF offices as cases are not being settled for the months together and there is looting of poor subscribers dispensaries functioning is very poor Kathua and Rajouri PF offices are without head from the last more than one year and very poor coverage of ESI and PF in the field 12 hours duty is being taken but no over time is paid and labour department officials take no action in this regard”, he added.
Ashok Choudhary state General Secretary alleged that The govt is working under the influence of business lobby and the labour codes bills placed before the parliament in 2019 there were numbers of pro workers provisions made in the labour codes in 2019 but all of sudden withdrawn by the central Govt and presented fresh bills in the parliament without any discussion passed the anti-workers labour codes and even suggestions made by Parliamentary standing committee on labour and central labour trade unions has been ignored govt is being hijacked by the Babus.
