11/7/2020 12:56:49 AM

Early Times Report

JAMMU, Nov 6: Expressing his shock over the demise of Dr Naveed Runyal working as Physician at Ramban due to Coronavirus infection, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Executive Member Raman Suri said that this is the second case in the region wherein a doctor, after MD Radiology Dr Rajat, lost his life in the line of duty due to post COVID-19 complications. This is a big loss for the entire medical fraternity, family and friends of doctors and ofcourse to the Union Territory, which is struggling with pandemic and trying to save lives at every cost. Earlier, a Matron also succumbed due to infection. Raman Suri said that this virus has not ended and neither there is any vaccine for it yet, so the only defence against it as of now is precaution.
Raman Suri said that this is festive season, so people have forgetten the complications of pandemic which is not a good sign. They must follow government and health advisories as seriously as they were following in March this year when pandemic made its presence in India. We have to be extra cautious and not let our guards down, he asserted. Death of two young Doctors, one doing MD Radio-logy Dr Rajat and another working as Physician at Ram-ban Dr Naveed Runyal, due to post COVID complications in Jammu region in last 10 days besides a Matron are examples that coronavirus is dangerous and can be tackled only with utmost precautions. Paying his tributes to the doctors who lost their lives in the line of duty, Raman Suri prayed for peace to the departed souls and strength to families to bear this irreparable loss. He said that this void can never be filled but government must do something to make sacrifices of these doctors and paramedics remembered forever. He urged people not to crowd markets, stay ind-oors, move out only when needed, wear masks, wash hands frequently, not touch surfaces unnecessarily, use sanitizers, keep distance and follow every government advisory to stay safe and save lives. We are still struggling with pandemic, but since every activity has started we must keep a pace with others but with utmost precautions.
