Army sponsored training on entrepreneurial dairy farming concludes at SKUAST-J

JAMMU, Nov 11: A fifteen-day training programme on "Entrepreneurship Development through Dairy Farming and Value Addition of Milk" sponsored by Tiger Division of Indian Army under Operation Sadbhavna today concludes here at Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, R.S. Pura campus, SKUAST-Jammu.
The training programme was organized for the unemployed rural youth and ex-service men of the army so that they could start their own enterprises of Dairy Farming and Value Addition of Milk.
Twenty one participants from different villages of Jammu district successfully completed the training programme and received participation certificates.
On this occasion, a training manual on the said programme in Hindi was also released containing lectures and practical demonstrations covered by the different resource persons.
On the valedictory function, Prof M.S. Bhadwal, Dean, FVSc&AH cum Course Director, congratulated all the trainees for their interest and continuous availability in the programme. He also congratulated the course coordinators and other supporting staffs for successful completion of the training programme.
Colonel Mohammad Ali of Tiger Division, Jammu, stated that there is dire need of such programmes which aims on updating the farmers' knowledge to boost up dairy farming community and uplift their socio-economic status.
Prof. Sunil Kumar, Head of the Division of LPT and Course coordinator briefed about the successful completion of the programme. In all 37 lectures were delivered by experts of the Faculty of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry. Dr. Pranav Kumar, Assistant Professor, Division of Veterinary Extension and Course coordinator thanked Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu for continuous motivation and support, Dean FVSc&AH for consistent guidance and monitoring, resource persons, Tiger Division of Indian Army (sponsor) and trainees for making this training programme a grand success.
