SRINAGAR, Nov 11: The total number of Corona Virus positive cases in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir crossed one lakh and reached 1, 00,351 as 507 new cases were reported today. The death toll reached 1,558 with nine fresh deaths coming up in past 24 hours.
Srinagar district reported 140 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Jammu district 94 cases, Ganderbal district 44 cases, Baramulla district 40 cases, Kupwara district 32 cases, Budgam district 31 cases, Udhampur district 20 cases, Kishtwar district 19 cases, Anantnag district 14 cases, Doda district 13 cases, Kathua district 12 cases, Pulwama district 11 cases, Bandipora and Rajouri districts eight cases each, Ramban district five cases, Kulgam and Reasi districts four cases each, Poonch and Samba districts three cases each and Shopian district two cases.
Srinagar, Jammu and Baramulla districts reported two fresh Corona Virus deaths followed by a death each in Kupwara, Udhampur and Doda districts. So far 1034 people have died due to the virus in Kashmir valley while as in Jammu division 524 people have lost their lives to the virus.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 507 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 181 from Jammu division and 326 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 00,351. Also nine COVID-19 deaths have been reported; four from Jammu division and five from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 433 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 103 from Jammu Division and 330 from Kashmir Division. Out of 1, 00,351 positive cases, 5,480 are active positive, 93,313 have recovered and 1,558 have died; 524 in Jammu division and 1,034 in Kashmir division.
Out of 25, 51,946 test results available, 24, 51,595 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 7, 01,640 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 16,989 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 5,480 in isolation and 41,849 in home surveillance. Besides, 6, 35,764 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 20,845 positive cases, 1,424 active positive, 19,036 recovered, 385 deaths; Baramulla has 6,594 positive cases, 752 active positive, 5,689 recovered, 153 deaths; Budgam has 6,345 positive cases, 307 active positive, 5,943 recovered, 95 deaths; Pulwama has 4,804 positive cases, 132 active positive, 4,588 recovered, 84 deaths; Kupwara has 4,734 positive cases, 443 active positive, 4,215 recovered, 76 deaths.
"Anantnag has 4,359 positive cases, 190 active positive, 4,094 recovered, 75 deaths; Bandipora has 4,175 positive cases, 157 active positive, 3,970 recovered, 48 deaths; Ganderbal has 3,847 positive cases, 300 active positive, 3,512 recovered, 35 deaths; Kulgam has 2,533 positive cases, 85 active positive, 2,400 recovered, 48 deaths and Shopian has 2,266 positive cases, 89 active positive, 2,142 recovered, 35 deaths," reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 18,656 positive cases, 685 active positive, 17,698 recovered, 273 deaths; Rajouri has 3,282 positive cases, 90 active positive, 3,144 recovered, 48 deaths; Udhampur has 2,907 positive cases, 207 active positive, 2,667 recovered, 33 deaths; Doda has 2,755 positive cases, 105 active positive, 2,601 recovered, 49 deaths; Kathua has 2,551 positive cases, 66 active positive, 2,452 recovered, 33 deaths.
"Poonch has 2,320 positive cases, 70 active positive, 2,228 recovered, 22 deaths; Samba has 2,239 positive cases, 74 active positive, 2,140 recovered, 25 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,094 positive cases, 136 active positive, 1,943 recovered, 15 deaths; Ramban has 1,702 positive cases, 100 active positive, 1,584 recovered, 18 deaths and Reasi has 1,343 positive cases, 68 active positive, 1,267 recovered, eight deaths," reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 00,351 positive cases in J&K, 10,140 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
