J&K chapter of SFM organises first inaugural CME

Jammu , Nov 13: J&K chapter of SFM organised it's first and inaugural CME which was aimed at establishing the J&K Chapter of Society of Fetal Medicine for providing a long pending and unmet need for providing an optimal outcome to the fetus and mother . The meeting was organised by Dr Arshad Bhat Consultant Radiologist wherein Speakers, Chairpersons, Panelists and Participants all across the india & abroad participated and detailed deliberations were given by eminent national faculty followed by a panel discussion on case scenarios in day to day practice. Dr. Arshad Bhat told the news correspondent that this meeting was scheduled long back and because of ongoing covid pandemic we had to do it on virtual basis . He further explained how optimal imaging and comprehensive approach by obstetricians. Geneticists and Radiologists & Imaging Specialists can be planned to provide an optimal atmosphere to the fetus and mother duo. He further added that the SFM is aimed at early detection of fetal abnormalities and syndromes and timely interventions and counseling of parents whatever required so as to have a healthy fetus born to a healthy mother. He said earlier the pregnant ladies of the erstwhile state of JK were deprived of specialised care with respect to advanced imaging and fetal interventional proceedures for which they were supposed to spend huge amount besides traveling to centers outside the state for such interventional procedures if required but now they need not to go anywhere and can be take care of in their home state . He conveyed his gratitude & thanks to Dr TLN Praveen President SFM & his team and especially Dr Ashok Khurana Chairman and Consultant in Reproductive Ultrasound at Ultrasound Lab New Delhi & Immediate past president of SFM who conceived the idea of establishing the J&K State SFM chapter and who had been a consistent support ,a guide throughout indeed and helped us finally getting this JK Chapter of SFM established.
