JAC’s agitation enters 29th day

Jammu, Nov 13: The agitation launched by the lawyers practicing in Jammu wing of J&K High Court and the Subordinate Courts since 15th of October, continued on 29th day, today.
The lawyers Action Committee, carrying ahead the agitation held DHARNA in the Court Complex Janipura Jammu. The lawyers are protesting against closure of their continued entry into courts besides of public for past 8 months. Justice seekers are worst sufferers besides the professionals in law. The reason of corona cannot be a basis for this closure in view of resumption of human activity in other spheres like political, electoral, marriage gatherings, parliament, assemblies, business centers, cinema halls, buses etc.
The alternative of virtual hearings offered is totally inapt and cannot replace physical hearing. With the major demand for opening of High Court and Subordinate Courts for physical hearing and removing the restrictions on the entry of lawyers and public in the courts, besides other demands for accepting hard copies, opening of Bar Rooms of lawyers and other facilities of lawyers, providing stamp papers and tickets in court area through stamp vendors, holding of elections for J&K Bar Council, opening of consumer courts in J&K, shifting back Registration of documents from Revenue Officers to Judicial Officers, withdrawing contempt cases against some lawyers, the Lawyers are agitating.
Advocate BAR JAC demanding opening of all courts for physical entry to lawyers and public, resume physical hearing, accepting hard copies of cases, opening the locked Bar Rooms of lawyers, providing stamp papers and tickets within court premises through stamp vendors, immediately opening of Consumer Courts, shifting back Registry of Documents to Judicial Officers, withdrawing contempt initiated against the lawyers and holding immediate election to the J&K Bar Council.

Jalmeria, SK Anand, CS Gupta, Vinod Abrol, BR Chandan, RS Kotwal, Babu Ram Sharma, SP Bakshi, Kulbhushan Sajgotra, Jugal Kishore, Subodh Jamwal,GS Thakur, Manohar Gupta, Subhash Sharma, Kunal Singh Chib, Meharban Singh, Mohd Rashid, Suneet Jamwal, Jasvinder Singh, Amit Gupta, Harsh Sharma, AM Khan,Yash Pal, Ajay Singh Manhas, Prithvi Raj Drora, Arun Gandotra, Bharat Singh, Satish Sharma, Ravinder Kumar,Jatinder Singh, MP Singh, Atula Raina, Amzi Arthor John, Rahul Singh, Muzaffar Ali Shah besides others.
