| Kathua: 45 in fray for Phase-II of DDC elections, Panchayat By-polls | | 1 Sarpanch, 1 Panch elected unopposed | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, Nov 20: Forty five candidates are in fray for second phase of District Development Council and Panchayat by polls here, even as two candidates one each for Sarpanch and Panch seats have been elected unopposed. As per information given by DPEO Kathua, out of 50 candidates, 3 withdrew their nominations on the last date of withdrawal (NOV 19, 2020).
Those who withdrew their nominations, include 2 for Sarpanch seats and 1 for panch seats.
Meanwhile, 2 candidates who have filed nominations for vacant Sarpanch seat of Dhar Mahanpur block and a vacant Panch seat in block Mahanpur were declared elected unopposed by respective Returning Officers.
As per schedule issued by District Panchayat Election officer Kathua, the voting for Phase-II of DDC, Panchayat Bye-elections being held for DDC- Mahanpur and Mandli constituencies would be held on Dec 01, 2020. |
