SRINAGAR, Nov 20: The total number of COVID-19 positive cases in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 1, 05,376 with 661 new cases being reported today and the death toll reached 1,622 following four fresh deaths in the past 24 hours or so.
Srinagar district reported 169 fresh cases of Corona Virus followed by Jammu district 98 cases, Baramulla district 63 cases, Budgam district 53 cases, Udhampur district 50 cases, Kishtwar district 36 cases, Ganderbal district 28 cases, Kupwara district 27 cases, Pulwama district 22 cases, Bandipora district 21 cases, Doda district 17 cases, Anantnag district 16 cases, Samba district 12 cases, Rajouri, Ramban and Reasi districts 10 cases each, Kathua eight cases, Kulgam district six cases, Shopian district three cases and Poonch district two cases.
Jammu district in the Jammu division reported two fresh COVID-19 deaths followed by a death each in Anantnag and Kupwara districts in the Kashmir valley. In the Kashmir valley 1,072 people have died due to the virus so far while as in Jammu division the number of virus related deaths is 550.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 661 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 253 from Jammu division and 408 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 05,376. Also four COVID-19 deaths have been reported; two from Jammu division and two from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 539 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 208 from Jammu Division and 331 from Kashmir Division. Out of 1, 05,376 positive cases, 5,678 are active positive, 98,076 have recovered and 1,622 have died; 550 in Jammu division and 1,072 in Kashmir division.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 22,119 positive cases, 1,566 active positive, 20,151 recovered, 402 deaths; Baramulla has 7,151 positive cases, 593 active positive, 6,399 recovered, 159 deaths; Budgam has 6,630 positive cases, 285 active positive, 6,247 recovered, 98 deaths; Kupwara has 5,011 positive cases, 524 active positive, 4,407 recovered, 80 deaths; Pulwama has 4,941 positive cases, 149 active positive, 4,706 recovered, 86 deaths.
“Anantnag has 4,483 positive cases, 193 active positive, 4,213 recovered, 77 deaths; Bandipora has 4,317 positive cases, 178 active positive, 4,090 recovered, 49 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,060 positive cases, 273 active positive, 3750 recovered, 37 deaths; Kulgam has 2,569 positive cases, 76 active positive, 2,442 recovered, 48 deaths and Shopian has 2,293 positive cases, 73 active positive, 2,184 recovered, 36 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 19,510 positive cases, 588 active positive, 18,635 recovered, 287 deaths; Rajouri has 3,349 positive cases, 85 active positive, 3,215 recovered, 49 deaths; Udhampur has 3,190 positive cases, 305active positive, 2,849 recovered, 36 deaths; Doda has 2,890 positive cases, 148 active positive, 2690 recovered, 52 deaths; Kathua has 2,663 positive cases, 72 active positive, 2,556 recovered, 35 deaths.
“Poonch has 2,364 positive cases, 74 active positive, 2,268 recovered, 22 deaths; Samba has 2,340 positive cases, 150 active positive, 2,164 recovered, 26 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,287 positive cases, 166 active positive, 2,105 recovered, 16 deaths; Ramban has 1,803 positive cases, 125 active positive, 1,660 recovered, 18 deaths and Reasi has 1,406 positive cases, 52 active positive, 1,345 recovered, nine deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 05,376 positive cases in J&K, 10,502 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
