Unhygienic public urinals at DC office premises make mockery of SBM

RAJOURI, Nov 22: The unhygienic condition of public urinals at the office of DDC Rajouri literally makes mockery of Swatch Bharat Mission (SBM) that too during this COVID pandemic posing serious threat for the common public, who visit the premises daily for official works.
As per information, the public urinals at premises of the District Administration Office Rajouri is in total bad condition, which is not cleaned on daily basis and poses serious threat to the health of the common public which visits the office for various revenue related works.
Sources told Early Times that the toilet has not been cleaned ever since its construction, which clearly shows how insensitive is the administration towards sanitation perspective. Criticizing the administration, Vice President Shiv Sena, Sofia Sago said that the Rajouri Administration has overlooked the slogan of Swachh Bharat Mission, given by PM Modi. "The District Administration is the Nodal agency to ensure the proper implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission but Rajouri Administration has totally ignored it," she alleged.
She further said that during COVID pandemic, there are possibilities that COVID affected people might have used this toilet, which ultimately increases the threat of getting affected by this deadly virus whoever uses it.
"If a district administration can't maintain a toilet by ensuring its sanitation then it can be well imagined that what will be situation of cleanliness campaign in the other parts of the district," she said. Despite repeated calls to the DDC Rajouri and Chairman Municipal Council, they could not be connected for the comments.
