Early Times Report
VIJAYPUR, Nov 24: Libraries play an important role in our academic and social lives. However, it has been observed that the use of library is decreasing day by day as people are making use of technology to retrieve any kind of information but the fact is that technology cannot replace libraries. Information can be obtained immediately by reading something but knowledge is the result of study which is obtained only by continuous careful study and is a treasure that no one can ever plunder. Hence, it is very important to associate with books because the complete knowledge that we can gain from the books cannot be provided by technology. Also, the information from the libraries can be retrieved in a more organized and systematic manner as compared to technology. Hence, there is a need to set up more and more libraries in our surroundings to receive the best and valuable information stored in books. To make students aware about libraries and their importance, Govt. Degree College Vijaypur celebrated National Library Week (Books Ke Saath Dosti Week) from 14 to 20 November, 2020. The celebrations can be traced by a practice initiated by I. V. Ramayya recognized as 'The Architect of Public Library Movement in India'.
