Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 24: Over half a dozen youth leaders of PDP under scanner after National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday questioned the PDP’s youth leader Waheed ur Rehman Parra.
Parra, who is the blue-eyed boy of PDP president, Mehbooba Mufti, was questioned in connection with the Dy-SP Devinder Singh and Hizbul Mujahideen commander Naveed Babu’s arrest case, in New Delhi.
Highly placed sources said that over half a dozen youth leaders of PDP, who are closed confident of Parra, were under scanner because these young leaders have been working as agents of Para in Jammu.
Sources said that after getting reports about questioning of Parra by NIA these youth leaders have gone under-ground.
During the tenure of Mehbooba Mufti as chief minister of J&K in the BJP-PDP regime, Parra was all powerful in the administration and was appointed as secretary J&K Sports Council.
On Monday PDP youth leader Parra was questioned for the entire day in the New Delhi office of NIA.
Already J&K government had already started a probe into the irregularities in appointments in Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council when Parra was its head.
As per orders issued by the Governor’s secretariat, the probe committees would look into all the five cases from 2010 to 2018 with focus on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-Bharatiya Janata Party-led government’s tenure.
The move came in the backdrop of numerous complaints received by the Governor’s administration through public outreach programmes conducted by the Governor’s advisors and through written complaints.
Sources said during the Mehbooba Mufti-led government’s tenure the dredging contracts were awarded unfairly and the appointments in the J&K Sports Council under PDP leader Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra were mainly backdoor.
