| Independent Corporators criticize JMC administration | | |

Jammu, Nov 24: Independent Corporators of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) have criticized the administration for now allowing media and visitors for a scheduled General House meeting.
Addressing media persons, the independent Corporators said that after lapse nine months, JMC Mayor has woken up from slumber and has ordered for General House Meeting of Corporation to be conducted on 28th November 2020 that too in haphazard manner. “It has been ordered that no visitor and media will be allowed during General House Meeting. The Parliament Session was conducted and proceedings were covered by the media. The election of Bihar state was conducted and big rallies were organized. The Election of USA was conducted during Covid 19 pandemic but Municipal Corporation Jammu failed to conduct even single meeting after General House meeting of 28-02-2020”, they said.
They demanded that it was for the first time in the history of Municipality/JMC that highest investigating agency (CBI) of the country raided JMC HQ Town Hall Jammu.
The Corporators pointed out in the General House Meeting of council and through press conferences that corruption is at peak in JMC but Mayor has failed to take strong measures to tackle this problem with the result CBI raided the JMC HQ but it is very surprising that Mayor remained mum till date.
They also alleged unnecessary interference by JMC at religious places such as Rupaywala Mandir, total failure of JMC regarding Covid 19 management, stalling of developmental works beside others. |
