Ram Madhav’s ‘conspicuous absence’ during DDCs election raises many eye-brows

Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 16: Polling for the seventh phase of the eight-phased District Development Councils (DDCs) elections was completed today but conspicuous absence of BJP’s stalwart Ram Madhav from the campaign has raised many eye-brows.
BJP high-command has deputed senior party leaders including union ministers to campaign for nearly one month long electioneering in J&K but party leadership has decided not to depute Ram Madhav, who was once projected as Saffron Brigade’s points-man in the highly sensitive state of J&K- which is now bifurcated into two Union Territories (UTs).
Ram Madhav had campaigned in the recently held Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Leh elections but he is missing from the scene of DDCs elections.
Highly placed sources said that BJP high command had given free hand to Ram Madhav in dealing with J&K, especially to spread party’s footprints in Kashmir Valley but he all his experiments were failed. “BJP high-command is not convinced with the important decisions taken by Ram Madhav when he was party’s points-man in J&K, especially when party was sharing power with PDP under the chief ministership of Mehbooba Mufti”, sources said and added that all initiatives taken by Ram Madhav were backfired so party high command has decided to relieve him from highly sensitive region like J&K and Ladakh.
“It was all due to the high-profile style of working of Ram Madhav that common BJP workers could not even dare to speak with him”, sources said and added that instead of interacting with grass-root level workers Ram Madhav preferred to interact with only senior leaders and senior bureaucrats to get feedback.
While nominating his new team BJP president J P Nadda had replaced high-profile Ram Madhav with low-profile Tarun Chugh who is working round the clock to ensure victory of party candidates in DDCs elections.
