Govt Polytechnic organises mega job fair; 35 MNCs, local industries participate

JAMMU, Jan 15: Principal Secretary, Skill Development Department, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon, today inaugurated mega job fair organised by Government Polytechnic Bikram Chowk, Jammu.
The event, which was attended by more than 1200 students of Polytechnic/ITI, was participated by about 35 Multi-National companies and local industries to hire the Diploma Polytechnic and ITI students.
Director Skill Development, Sajjad Hussain Ganaie, Dr. M Y Peerzada, Director Higher Education, Anoo Malhotra, Director Industries and Commerce, Arun Bangotra, Principal Government Polytechnic Jammu, Adil, Director Tulas Institute, Dehradun and other concerned officers of the department were present on the occasion.
Dr Samoon lauded the efforts of administration of the polytechnic college for conducting such a grand job fair in the times of Covid pandemic. He highlighted several impending challenge a student faces in seeking job and emphasized for converting those challenges into opportunities through continuous hard work and dedication. He said such events greatly help in addressing unemployment menace by making jobs available to the candidates according to their potential and educational qualification.
Director Skill Development briefed about various activities of skill development department and the latest updates in terms of skill add-on courses the department is providing along with three-year diploma courses. He said that the job fair will be the platform for students to meet their future sponsors.
Principal of the college elaborated about the industries and companies participating in the event.
The motive behind holding this job fair was to provide employment opportunities to Polytechnic and ITI students in 35 renowned multinational, national and local companies like Voltas, KGK group, P2 Power solutions, Kinetic communications, John Deere Tractors, Rackon India, Microtek, Nainko Exim Private Limited, U-Flex, Raven Bhel, Kandhari Beverages, Jai Beverages, Sun Pharma, Mudrakshi Hytech, Skoda motors, Shuhul Motors, Shree Cement, Maruti Suzuki, Shree Toyota etc.
