EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 19: KPC observes Exodus day as black day by wearing black badges and switching off the lights of their houses and other establishments. On this occasion KPC President Kundan Kashmiri stated that over the years, victim KPs’ interests have been bartered, marginalized and ignored which generated a feeling of demoralization, disempowerment and marginalization among them. The victim Kashmiri Pandits have been taken for granted just for their overwhelming faith in the system which has terribly failed us, be it our safety, security, property, temples, human rights, employment, development or share in political or administrative fields or in the welfare schemes. This eventually has resulted in despair and desperation that if not still addressed could prove more harmful. He said that KPs needed a fair and better deal but what we got is the worst type of humiliation in terms of denial and deprivation. Even after the abolition of article 370 and separate status to J&K, nothing has changed for this unfortunate victim community. The dispensation at Delhi forgot us and the J&K dispensation continues to behave as earlier politicians and powers were behaving. President KPC further stated that it would be prudent and in overall interest of the community if all, responsible and like-minded KP organisations and activists join hands and make a common cause to defeat our tormentors and make New Delhi to adopt an urgent policy that fully give KPs justice, empowers us and compensate us with the huge socio-economic and political and other losses we all suffered so far. He said it is an appropriate time for all victim KPs to join their hands and thoughts to get the justice and achieve the goal of one place settlement (Separate Kashyap Bhoomi) in the valley. Other KP leaders which include Tej Pandita, MN Raina, Dr HL Saraf, Susheel Ji Bhat, RL Raina and others. |
