SRINAGAR, Jan 20: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported 109 new cases of Corona Virus today following which the number of positive cases reached 123647. No fresh virus related death was reported in the union territory in the past 24 hours or so.
Jammu district reported 38 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Srinagar district 36 cases, Budgam district seven cases, Anantnag district six cases, Baramulla, Pulwama, Kupwara and Kulgam districts three cases each, Bandipora and Udhampur districts two cases each and Shopian, Rajouri, Doda, Samba, Poonch & Reasi districts one case each.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 109 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 45 from Jammu division and 64 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 23,647.
Moreover, 113 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 56 from Jammu division and 57 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 23,647 positive cases, 1,099 are active positive, 1, 20,625 have recovered and 1,923 have died; 716 in Jammu division and 1,207 in Kashmir division.
Out of 43, 19,042 test results available, 41, 95,395 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 10, 43,766 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 34,849 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 1,099 in isolation and 70,170 in home surveillance. Besides, 9, 35,725 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 25,903 positive cases, 253 active positive, 25,197 recovered, 453 deaths; Baramulla has 8,072 positive cases, 56 active positive, 7,843 recovered, 173 deaths; Budgam has 7,729 positive cases, 52 active positive, 7,562 recovered, 115 deaths; Pulwama has 5,678 positive cases, 67 active positive, 5,523 recovered, 88 deaths; Kupwara has 5,631 positive cases, 58 active positive, 5,479 recovered, 94 deaths.
"Anantnag has 4,858 positive cases, 53 active positive, 4,721 recovered, 84 deaths; Bandipora has 4,682 positive cases, 28 active positive, 4,593 recovered, 61 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,578 positive cases, 73 active positive, 4,459 recovered, 46 deaths; Kulgam has 2,685 positive cases, 38 active positive, 2,593 recovered, 54 deaths and Shopian has 2,554 positive cases, 36 active positive, 2,479 recovered, 39 deaths," reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 24,743 positive cases, 191 active positive, 24,185 recovered, 367 deaths; Udhampur has 4,186 positive cases, 37 active positive, 4,092 recovered, 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3,864 positive cases, seven active positive, 3,802 recovered, 55 deaths; Doda has 3,427 positive cases, seven active positive, 3,356 recovered, 64 deaths; Kathua has 3,249 positive cases, two active positive, 3,196 recovered, 51 deaths.
"Samba has 2,826 positive cases, 88 active positive, 2,698 recovered, 40 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,730 positive cases, one active positive, 2,707 recovered, 22 deaths; Poonch has 2,485 positive cases, 30 active positive, 2,431 recovered, 24 deaths; Ramban has 2,130 positive cases, 13 active positive, 2,096 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,637 positive cases, nine active positive, 1,613 recovered, 15 deaths," reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 23,647 positive cases in J&K, 11,488 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
