ICDS Project Vijaypur hosts medical camp

JAMMU, Feb 11: ICDS Project Vijaypur today organised Medical Camp under POSHAN Abhiyan, here at Panchayat Ghar Trindian in Block Ramgarh.
The camp was held under the supervision of Child Development Project Officer, Vijaypur.
Medical Officer, Dr Rimpee from Mission Directorate ICDS was the medical expert who examined the Infant and Young Children besides other female beneficiaries. Sarpanch, Panchayat Halqa Trindian, Bharat Bhushan , Supervisor Vijay Jasrotia, Health and Nutrition Mobilizer Anshu Sharma , Frontline Anganwadi Workers and other beneficiaries were present.
Speaking on the occasion, the Child Development Project Officer Vijaypur, Er. Madhur Anand emphasized that POSHAN Abhiyan is an appropriate platform for fighting malnourishment with the participation of the people. He further said that the POSHAN Abhiyan is a movement for the people ,of the people and with the people. "One of the aspects of POSHAN Abhiyan is to look after first 1000 days of children and best possible care of this period will ensure that children our future heritage will be healthy" he added.
He also emphasised on identifying the malnourished children by Anganwadi centres for curing the problem at its root.
Medical officer Dr Rimpee, growth monitored children for malnourishment and also checked them for childhood related diseases. Around 40 children and few pregnant women, lactating mothers and were benefitted.
During the camp 2 Severely Acute Malnutrition children (SAM) were identified. The people were made aware about necessary nutritional changes to remove all kind of nutritional deficiencies.
Meanwhile, the SAM children were adopted by Child Development Project Officer of ICDS project Vijaypur.
