DDC inspects developmental works in Rajouri Township

RAJOURI, Feb 11: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan on Thursday inspected the progress of developmental works in the Rajouri Township and its outskirts.
The DDC was accompanied by the ADC Rajouri, Sher Singh; CEO Tourism, Vivek Puri; ACR, Mohd Ashraf; CMO, Dr. Shamim Un Nissa Bhatti; Tehsildar Rajouri, Mohammad Rafeeq; ExEn PWD Rajouri, Mohammad Zubair; BMO Manjakote, Dr.Mehmood and concerned from Municipal Council Rajouri.
The progress of projects reviewed on the spot were construction of Model Boys Higher Secondary School Rajouri Building ; Girls Higher Secondary School Rajouri building; Batala Mang Bridge and approach road to Hamilton Bridge.
During his visit to Model Boys Higher Secondary School Rajouri, the ExEn PWD informed that the project has been approved under languishing scheme at an estimated cost of Rs 7.01 crore. He informed that the superstructure of the project has been completed and the rest work is in progress.
In order to prohibit the trespassing and protect the land area/ land, the DDC directed the concerned officer of the PWD to construct a compound wall around the school.
The Model Girl Higher Secondary School Rajouri, approved at an estimated cost of Rs 1.39 crore, is presently at the slab level, the DDC was told. He asked the concerned Executive Engineer to speed up the work on the project and keep the provision of the stairs on the sloop near the school. Tehsildar Rajouri was directed to provide land for the construction of the stairs so that the school going students can take a short route.
At Hamilton Bridge, the DDC asked the concerned to expedite the work to ensure that the work on the road is completed within the shortest possible time.
The DDC also paid a visit to Batala Mang Bridge which has been approved at an estimated cost Rs 16 crores and the approach road from the left side stands completed. It was informed that on the right side of Bridge, there is an issue regarding the land under the possession of the Army. DDC directed the Tehsildar Rajouri to demarcate the land and file the status.
DDC also visited cremation Ground ( Shamshan Ghat) near Tariq bridge where he directed the CEO Tourism to develop a park on the adjoining land for recreational purposes. He also directed the Municipal authorities to carry out a Swatchta drive in the whole Rajouri town and aware the masses about the importance of cleanliness and sanitation.
Meanwhile, the DDC visited the Mother and Child Care Hospital, which has been designated as COVID19 vaccination centre. The progress regarding the vaccination process being carried out there was also reviewed.
