JAMMU, Feb 23: Power Employees under the banner of PEECC comprising of various unions of PDD led by, Sachin Tickoo General Secretary JKEEGA and convenor PEECC, Jaipal Sharma, president DEA, Balbir Singh of draftsman Association, Anil Slathia of lineman and workers association, HD Singh of TEF, Kulbir Singh ,EEU, Jasbir Singh of ITI Employees, Tarun Gupta of PEU today held a convention of the employees working in Kathua District and listened to their problems for their projection to the higher authorities.
During the meeting the issue of DPC pertaining to the District Kathua was raised and it was decided to put forth vociferously the need of creating posts in the Kathua District commensurate to the assets that have increased tenfold during the last 20 years. There are nearly 500 daily wagers awaiting their regularization since 1997 pertaining to the district and unless creation of the posts is not carried out, it won't be possible to regularize such a huge backlog.
The PEECC members vehemently asked the employees to push for revenue collection on war footing basis so that Government also is forced to rethink on privatization move and turn around the power distribution sector.
PEECC appeals Government to resolve the long pending issues of the employees who have sacrificed their lives in line of duty and settle their claims of compensation and SRO-43 on priority.
The coordination committee shall continue its reach out programme in all districts to ensure that all issues of employees are taken on board and the long pending issues of employees are projected before the right corners for their speedy disposal.
