Shops selling ‘Dialogue with Pakistan’ resume business in Kashmir
After Hurriyat, Mehbooba joins chorus
2/24/2021 12:04:02 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 23: Even as Pakistan has been responsible for the years of bloodshed in Jammu and Kashmir, the politicians of Kashmir have resumed their business of seeking dialogue with the enemy country.
After months of lull on this front since the abrogation of the special status of J&K on August 5, 2019, suddenly such voices have resurfaced in Kashmir.
At first, it was the Hurriyat Conference, and now it’s former Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti, who have joined the chorus, when Pakistan has only intensified its terror motives in J&K.
On February 18, the Hurriyat, headed by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq urged the visiting 24 diplomats to “push for a dialogue” on the “Kashmir issue.”
“The envoys should use their good offices and help in facilitating dialogue among India, Pakistan and people of J&K for the resolution for the sake of peace in this highly volatile region,” a Hurriyat spokesman said.
The Hurriyat said a “curated tour” of foreign dignitaries to showcase normalcy in the Valley is misleading. “Peoples’ spontaneous strike, only means of protest left to them, speaks volumes of what they feel and want,” he alleged.
The same day in the evening the Pakistan sponsored terrorists shot at the son of the owner of the famous Krishna Dhaba in the summer capital of Srinagar.
Ironically, a day after the pro-Pakistan statement, the terrorists shot dead two cops in Barzulla locality of Srinagar.
As if this continued bloodshed was not enough, a day after the Baghat tragedy, Mehbooba said India should hold dialogue with Pakistan for ending bloodshed.
The political observers said her statement was “grossly wrong.” “How and why should one demand talks with the killers when the killings have only intensified? This is not only ridiculous but sounds anti-national as well,” said a political pundit.
It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan’s nefarious designs of terror have also intensified in Jammu region. Apart from its bids to infiltrate terrorists into Indian territory, Pakistan has been eying to establish terror sleeper cells in the Jammu.
But all such designs of the enemy country don’t seem to be understandable for the likes of Mehbooba and Mirwaiz, who couldn’t be contacted for comments.
