Santosh flags off first national team of Ladakh for Sqay Nationals

LEH, Feb 23: The 1st team of Ladakh Sqay Association were flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Kargil Santosh Sukhdeve Led by Mohammad Hassan Coach and Zaheer Abass Khan Manager for Jaipur to participate in the National Sqay Championship starting from 25th of February 2021.
The team comprises of 12 Players out of which 2 are from Leh district.
Santosh Sukhdeve wished the team a great success and hoped that they will give their best in the Nationals.
On this occasion, Councillor Baroo Minjee Sheikh Mehdi, Chief Planning Officer Kargil Abdul Hadi, President Ladakh Sqay Association Zulfiqar Ali Khan, Vice President Muddasir Hussain Wazir, Representative of Kargil District Olympic Association Shah Nawaz Habib Var and parents of the players were also present.
Zulfiqar Ali Khan thanked Councillor Baroo Minjee Sheikh Mehdi for sponsoring the Ladakh Sqay Team for Nationals with Rs 50,000/ and hoped that others prominent personalities of Kargil and Business establishments will come forward to support the Sports Sector.
He hoped that the first team of UT Ladakh will bring some medals in the national which will boost the morale of the Sports Lovers.
He further said that the team has taken all the expenses on their own and requested the Secretary Youth Service and Sports Ravinder Kumar to refund the Expenses of the Players as most of the players belongs to poor family.
Mohammad Hassan National Player said that it's his first chance to represent Ladakh in the National and this will give them ample opportunity to harness their talent and practice.
