JKTMA oppose inclusion of grade 2, 3 ReT in GLT
3/12/2021 12:02:19 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 11: UT president of Jammu Kashmir teachers/masters association(JKTMA) Rakesh Singh strongly opposed the inclusion of grade 2 and grade 3 teachers erstwhile ReT teachers in the seniority list of General line teachers who are selected through rigorous procedure and screening test at district level as it is against the interest of General line teachers .
Singh while speaking on the occasion of monthly meeting of Jammu Kashmir teachers/master association said that we general line teachers strongly demand from Administrative secretary of Govt. School education department to prepare separate list of seniority of General line teachers and Grade 2 and Grade 3 teachers keeping in view their different nature of selection procedure as ReT are selected through village education committees under SSA scheme at village level by relaxing their educational qualifications by giving them concession but General line teachers are selected at substantive post through constitutional body SSRB at District level after following tough selection procedure followed by interview .
So keeping this point in view preparing same seniority list for both section of teachers is totally baseless.
Further Singh said that cadre of General line teachers is different from ReT teachers as former are working on substantive post drawing salary from their own posts and later are working on Supernumerary posts as per decision of state Administrative council ( SAC) drawing salary by utilizing other posts keeping this in view seniority list of two different cadre should be different along with different Quota of promotion that is 50:50 till the promotion of all grade 2 and grade 3 teachers to next higher cadre.
Association also raised the flaw in seniority of ReT teachers and demanded that there seniority should be counted/Fixed from the date they are/will be absorbed on General line teachers post and not from the date of their regularisation after 5 years and questioned that how seniority of employee is fixed before even if he is not borne in the cadre of General line teachers post ?
Association also strongly demanded from administrative secretary to prepare the list of all ReT teachers who are transferred from their original post of engagement to General line teachers (Non-Plan) post by hook and crook to revert them back to their original place of engagement as their engagement as local catalyst is school specific so they cannot be transferred till their promotion to next higher cadre as per order 111 of education.
