Azaadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav (India@75) DIPR organizes cultural programme at District Jail Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, Mar 26:- As a part of the “Azaadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav (India@75) celebrations, the Cultural Wing Department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR), Jammu, in collaboration with District Information Centre, Udhampur today organized a cultural programme on the theme COVID-19 dos’s & don’ts and India’s Rich Culture & Heritage, here at District Jail Udhampur.
Superintendent of District Jail Udhampur, Harish Kotwal was the Chief Guest.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest said that the aim of the programme is to create awareness among the inmates regarding COVID-19 pandemic. He appreciated the Information Department for creating awareness through cultural programme and sought more such events in the future.
Artists of Cultural Wing DIPR Jammu presented theme based scintillating cultural programme which mesmerized by the audience. A theme based Dogri song regarding COVID-19 “Asain Saaren Gee Samjhana aia Asain Corona Gee Nasaana Aia….” presented by Mohinder Kumar and Dogri Song “Jammu meri Jind Kashmir Meri Jaan…….” presented by Surjeet Singh were highly appreciated by the audience with repeated rounds of applause. Similarly, male and female inmates of the District Jail also presented theme based cultural programme. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Master Ishtaq Ahmed and senior artist DIPR, Suresh Kumar. Among others, Deputy Superintendent District Jail, S. Jagpal Singh, besides senior officers of CRPF & Police and artists of DIPR, including Yash Kumar, Suresh Sharma, Balbir Singh, Amit Kumar, Rakesh Kumar, staff members and large number of inmates were also present on the occasion.
