Sports competition organised at Kishtwar under BBBP

KISHTWAR, Mar 26: District Administration Kishtwar, in collaboration with District Youth Services and Sports department, today organised a sports competition under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao for girls here at Chowgan Ground.
District Development Council Kishtwar Chairperson Pooja Thakur; Deputy Commissioner, Ashok Sharma; Block Development Council chairman Suresh Sharma; DDC member Kishtwar Zakir Hussain Butt; DDC member Palmar, Tahir Masood; ADC Pawan Parihar; Assistant Labour Commissioner Anoop Kumar; Dy. Sp HQrs Davinder Singh Bandral; DYSSO, Kharati Lal Sharma; Masters, PETs besides girl students were present on the occasion.
During the programme a Cricket Match and Tug of War competition were organised in which students from different schools participated.
BVM School Kishtwar was declared 1st in inter-school tug of war competition. The 2nd and third positions went to ABN Public School-and Jamai Public High School, respectively.
Cultural programme and Nukkad Nataks on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao were also presented on the occasion. In her address, DDC Chairperson, Pooja Thakur said that parents play an important role in shaping the future of their children and asked them to treat both boys and girls equally. She also laid stress on the importance of providing education to girls and added that girls are important stakeholders in the development of society and it is our collective responsibility to take care of their needs and empowerment. She also stressed upon the importance of physical and mental fitness of the girls for their overall development.
Prizes were also distributed among the winners at the end of the function.
