KATHUA, Mar 27: Newly posted SSP Kathua, Ramesh Chandra Kotwal held a coordination meeting with media persons drawn from print and electronic media groups at District Police Line Kathua on Saturday. In this meeting, it was discussed to make aware the people on preventive measures to be adopt on the Holi festival, including the prevention of the growing outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. Harpreet Singh, general secretary of Press Club Kathua, and senior journalist Pradeep Sharma told the district police chief during the meeting that many people are also misusing the media and steps need to be taken to stop them. He said that the police department can take the list of all the journalists from the Information Department and on the same basis it can also call them in the media meets and police progrrames. Media personnel also insisted on managing the statements of police officers in case of any emergency. The district police chief said that the cooperation of media personnel is essential for a better society. He said that the police would also work to provide better cooperation at their level. In the meeting ASP Ramnish Gupta, DySP Kamal Dev Bhagat also shared their thoughts. In this meeting, Vice Chairman of Press Club of Kathua, Raj Kumar, Joint Secretary Mohan Sharma, Treasurer Prabh Dayal, Sachin Sharma, Kuldeep Sharma, Aditya Verma, Shivam Singh, Raj Kumar, Ajay Saini, Gurpreet Raina, Ashok Kumar, Rajesh Thakur, Pawan Kumar, Prabhash, Sonu Pandit and others were also present.
