| Commerce College organizes webinar on ‘Financial Planning and Investment Opportunities’ | | |

JAMMU, Apr 5: An Investor Awareness Webinar was organized jointly by Govt. SPMR College of Commerce and Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) on Financial Planning and Investment Opportunities.
Principal, Prof R S Jamwal, Govt. SPMR College of Commerce presented the welcome address. On behalf of the college faculty and students he welcomed the speakers and emphasized that uncertain economic environment necessitates astute financial planning and prudence. The webinar presents a unique opportunity for the students as well as the faculty to understand the nuances of the financial markets, investment in stock market and developing an understanding of the market volatility.
The first speaker Surya Kant Sharma, Sr. Consultant- North India, AMFI, who was keynote speaker in the webinar, in the beginning, touched upon the present scenario and at the outset cautioned the participants that the coming 12 months are going to the tough for all of us with regard to our personal finances and the first thing, we should all do, is to keep apart sufficient funds for taking care of monthly expenses covering minimum one year. Further, if you have any social or financial commitment in the next 18 months, adequate funds need to be kept handy.
The second speaker Amit Mishra, NSDL, e-governance talked at great length about the functions of National Securities Depositories Limited and how it helps in Scholarship and Loans for the students besides catering to the pension schemes. He gave an insight into the various pension schemes under NSDL while giving the benefits of enrolling for such deposits and securities at an early age.
All members of Placement and Career Counselling committee were present in the webinar and contributed along with the students’ towards an interesting interaction with ample amount of questions on investment planning. Formal vote of thanks was given by Prof Archana Kaul. |
