Director Law Enforcement reviews arrangements for smooth supply of Fertilizers, implementation of DBT

JAMMU, Apr 12: Director Law Enforcement, JK UT, B. K. Chandan today chaired a meeting of officers and fertilizer companies here at Krishi Bhawan, Jammu to review the timely availability of quality fertilizers and implementation of DBT in Fertilizers. Several issues related to smooth supply of fertilizer during the Kharif 2021 in both divisions of the UT were discussed threadbare in the meeting.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Director Law Enforcement, Roshan Lal Bhagat; Programme Officer, Sanjay Dhar; Enforcement Inspector, Kashmir Singh; Agriculture Extension Officer (Fertilizers), Santosh Bhat; Coordinator DBT J&K, Akhil Vaid; UT Head IFFCO, Bahadur Ram; UT Head National Fertilizers Ltd. (NFL), Prem Lal; UT Head Chambal Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd (CFCL),Kanwar Jeet Singh;UT Head IPL, Divyansh Verma and fertilizer wholesalers.
B. K. Chandan stressed on smooth and timely supply of quality fertilizer to the farmers of both divisions of the union Territory. He exhorted upon the fertilizer supplying companies and officers of the Agriculture Department to achieve 100% QR Code installation, up gradation of PoS machines to 3.1 -version to facilitate cashless sale (DBT) of fertilizers to the farmers. He directed for liquidation of stocks held by the fertilizer retailers in their PoS. The physical stock should match with fertilizer availability in iFMS Portal, he added.
He directed the concerned fertilizer dealers to get their licenses renewed within a month time positively. The Director instructed the concerned officers to cancel the license of the dealers who are not functional for the last one year and recover the PoS machines from such non-functional dealers.
The issue of fertilizer transportation to remote corners of hilly areas of the UT was also discussed during the meeting. It was also stressed that fertilizer is the major input for agricultural and horticultural crops and any lacuna is unacceptable in timely stocking/supply of the fertilizer in the UT.
