Flag Flowing Ceremony held

Jammu, Apr 16: Institute of Music and Fine Arts (IMFA) today organized a Flag Flowing Ceremony in which the National Flag of our country was flown on the roof top of the building of Institute of Music and Fine Arts, Poonch House, Talab Tillo.
This ceremony was held in response of the letter written by the Lt. Governor’s office to install national flag on the government offices of UT. Prof. Manoj Kumar Dhar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu, was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor highlighted the importance of the National Flag. He said that our elders made lot of sacrifices to achieve the independence and thus one should whole heartedly respect the national flag. He informed that the University of Jammu has already installed the national flag in the University Campus near fountain Plaza. The flag is a symbol of National Integration & Communal Harmony said Vice-Chancellor.
Earlier, Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik, Principal IMFA, in his welcome address informed that the Institute of Music and Fine Arts will in near future organize various function on Independence, National Integration & Communal Harmony. The
Institute is planning to organize its Annual Day very soon, besides the Institute will also organize a Sham-e-Ghazal on 27th of May in Bhaderwah Campus. He further said that Masters Degree in Music & Fine Arts will be started very soon in the IMFA. He also highlighted various problems of being faced by the IMFA teaching & Non-teaching employees and urged the Vice-Chancellor to resolve the problems of IMFA employees. The vote of thanks was presented by Sh. Rakesh Sharma, HOD Applied Art, who co-ordinated the whole programme effectively.
