GDC Thannamandi Commemorates Jallianwala Bagh & Ambedkar Jayanti

Jammu, Apr 16: In continuation with “Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsava” celebration 75 years of independence Government Degree College Thannamandi commemorated Jallianwala Bagh and Ambedkar Jayanti.
The programme was presided over by the Principal of the college Prof. Dr. Javaid Ahmed Qazi and coordinated by Prof. Raheela Mushtaq.
The programme included power point presentation on the biography of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and screening of documentary film on Jallianwala Bagh.
The power point presentation was presented by Prof. Raheela Mushtaq convenor culture and literary committee and the documentary on Jallianwala Bagh was presented by Mr. Bashir Bhat Lecturer Department of History.
The programme was conducted following the proper SOP Covid-19 pandemic. Principal of the college congratulated the entire team for organizing the events. He added that Jallianwalla Bagh massacre was marked as a turning point in getting independence from the Britishers.
Speaking on the Ambedkar Jayanti Principal of the College Prof. Dr. Javaid Ahmed Qazi highlighted the biography of Dr. Ambedkar, the chief architect of Indian Constitution and his efforts to eradicate social evils.
The students as well as faculty members of the college participated in the programme. The prominent who were present Prof Ajaz Nazir, Prof. Mohammad Shoket, Prof. Naveen Sharma, Dr. Shoket Ali and Dr. Altaf Ahmed.
