Police cracks whip on COVID 19 protocol violators

Kishtwar, Apr 23: Taking strong note of COVID 19 protocol violations, Kishtwar police today launched a massive crackdown on people violating the COVID 19 protocols and imposed strict fines on them beside also challan several others in court of duty magistrate.
Senior police official told the Early Times, that Police picked up the people who are without masks, violating section 144, beside those avoiding mass gathering were also picked up and counselled at Police Station Kishtwar.
Police also allowed a limited number of people to be allowed inside the mosques and also launched a crackdown on such people who had come to mosques with minor children.
“I too had desire to offer prayers at Masjid-- but I offered at home-- Islam allows offering prayers at home when pendamic threat looms large over our heads. This is a pandemic and not a law and order problem-- “ said a police personal wishing not to be named. He said that we must cooperate with the administration to save the society as a whole.
“It is our collective responsibility to work together so that we can defeat the COVID 19-- this is not an issue to be linked with any religion” said another policeman.
Police said that all the persons detained at Police Station Kishtwar were released subjected to proper counselling and filling of surety bonds. However police did not issue any details pertaining to registration of any case with regard to the violation of COVID 19 protocols.
Kishtwar District today has 57 active COVID Positive cases with District reported as many as 22 deaths and 2770 cumulative COVID 19 cases since the outbreak of the global pandemic.
