Gandhi Nagar shootout case solved: SSP Jammu
15 accused arrested during raids across country, 10 pistols recovered

Jammu, Apr 23: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday said that it solved the Gandhi Nagar shootout case by arresting fifteen accused.
SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli told reporters that an unidentified person had attacked the house of one Nagar Singh in Gandhi Nagar and fired multiple rounds.
Acting swiftly dedicated police teams led by SHO Gandhi Nagar Bharat Sharma under the supervision of SDPO City South, Parshotam Kumar Mengi and SP City South Jammu Deepak Digra were constituted.
“ Soon after this incident, special investigation teams were constituted and many people were zeroed in.” said SSP.
He informed that names of four person figured in the case initially but all four were missing after which multiple raids were conducted across Himachal Pradesh and Punjab with the help of Himachal Pradesh Police and Punjab Police, but they remained out of reach though we were close to them at these places.
“ Later, on another information, raid was conducted with the help of Hyderabad police in Hyderabad and four accused were nabbed.” SSP said.
He further informed that during the course of investigation so far, we have so far arrested fifteen person so far. “We have so far recovered ten pistols from the possession of these accused and more arrests are on cards.” officer further said.
He also said that Jammu police achieved success in solving this shootout case within twenty days and police carried out investigation in a professional manner with raids were conducted in Jammu district, other districts of Jammu and Kashmir and at a number of places across the country.
He identified the arrested accused as Royal Singh son of Manjit Singh resident of Mohall Dalphatian Jammu, Ajay Singh son of Tarloki Nath resident of Jagti Nagrota, Jammu, Jasbir Singh @ Kaka son of Gian Singh resident of Agra Chak RS Pura Jammu, Kuldeep Kumar @ Kamal son of Sat Pal resident of Talli Morh Miran Sahib Jammu, Kuldeep Kumar @ Hunny son of Baljit Singh resident of Swaran Vihar Camp Gole Gujral Jammu, Surinder Singh @ Babu son of Ashok Kumar resident of Khour Salarian Ramgarh Samba, Deepak Sharma son of Radhey Sham resident of Jawahar Nagar New Plot Jammu, Amandeep Singh son of Manjeet Singh resident of Dadyal Ramgarh Samba, Rishav Bhat son of Ravi Kumar Bhat resident of Sarwal Jammu, Rakesh Choudhary @ Chota Sethi son of Surjeet Singh resident of Ramgarh Samba, Vijay Kumar son of Karam Chand resident of Trandi Ramgarh Samba, Supreet Singh @ Raja S/o Devinder Singh R/o Mohalla Dalphatian Jammu, Yudhvir Singh @ Bablu son of Ayya Singh resident of Agra Chak RS Pura Jammu, Babar Khan @ Babar son of Ghulam Nabi resident of Bhawani Nagar Jammu and Pritam Singh @ Sethi son of Mohan Singh resident of Ramgarh, Samba.
The SSP said that accused Pritam Singh, Babar Khan @Babar, Yudvir Singh @Bablu and Supreet Singh @Raja were arrested during raid at Hyderabad and others in different raids in different parts.
During sustained questioning accused confessed that they fired the shots from their pistols. “We are further investigating the matter in a professional manner and everyone linked with this crime will be dealt with iron hands as per law.” Said the SSP Jammu.
He added that anyone who commits crime in Jammu will not be spared and J&K police is committed to keep society safe.
