SWD Udhampur hosts prosthets aids assessment camp at Pyt Rehmbal

UDHAMPUR, Apr 23: An assessment camp for persons with disabilities was today organized at Panchayat Ghar Rehmbal of District Udhampur by the Social Welfare Department Udhampur in collaboration with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO).
Speaking on the occasion, DSWO Priyanka Sharma, said that the camps are being organized across the district with an aim to extend the benefits meant for the welfare of persons with disabilities under various government sponsored schemes. She said that these camps will cover seven different blocks of the district.
During the camp, as many as 32 beneficiaries with different types of disabilities were registered. The DSWO made the participants along with the Sarpanches/Panches aware about the various schemes of the Social welfare department. She informed the PRIs about the ADIP scheme under which the camps are being organized at seven different locations in the District Udhampur. She requested PRIs to aware people regarding submission of Aadhaar card so that duplicity can be removed & maximum people can be benefited by various schemes.
The District Social Welfare Officer informed that during the week-long camps assessment will be done & later in the next phase distribution of required prosthetic aids to the divyaangs will take place. On the occasion, the Department also strictly followed Covid-19 appropriate behavior keeping in consideration the present pandemic situation.
