Jammu Police nabs notorious criminal with 50 grams gold

Jammu, Apr 30: Jammu Police on Friday arrested one notorious criminal with 50 grams of gold in Akhnoor area here on city outskirts.
Police said that acting on a complaint lodged by one Vijay Sharma of Kathar, Tehsil Maira Mandrian, Jammu on April 5 that some unknown burglars have entered his home and have stolen 50 grams (five tolas) golden items worth Rs. 2.50.
On receipt of the complaint a formal case was registered and investigation was set into motion.
During the course of investigation and after decisive and strategic planning the accused namely Shabir Shah of Patta Tali Morh, Reasi was identifed and tracked down in Srinagar and arrested from there by the teams led by Station House Officer, Police Station, Akhnoor, and the stolen ornaments were recovered on the disclosure of accused person.
The accused was also involved in no of criminal cases in Reasi and Gharota area of Jammu.
However investigation is in progress, police said.
