ARUN JASROTIA
EARLY TIMES REPORT

UDHAMPUR, May 3: While lockdowns and corona curfews have again become the order of the day due to massive surge in COVID positive cases in the month of April, those who are at the forefront of the Corona war including doctors, health workers and police personnel are playing a decisive role to stem the rot. At the same time, the delivery men who are ensuring distribution of LPG cylinders from house to house in this grave situation are no less than any corona warrior but no one looks at their immense contribution since they are the ones who also risk their lives to keep people’s kitchen running.
No doubt doctors, health workers, policemen and others are playing a pivotal role in fighting the war against COVID-19 and are engaged day and night to save more and more people from deadly coronavirus without any complaint.
However, the delivery men are also delivering the necessary cooking gas to the door steps of the common masses in every area without any fear of their lives. There are dozens of delivery men of the different gas agencies in Udhampur city, who are going house to house and distributing gas without any fear.
Romesh Kumar, a delivery man engaged with a local gas agency, said that during COVID’s first wave last year they worked tirelessly for the common masses to ensure delivery of gas to their door steps and this year also in the midst of corona’s second wave, which is more dangerous than previous year’s they are leaving no stone unturned to get the job done.
He said that they are following all the guidelines issued by the district administration including covering the face with a mask, sanitizing hands and to maintain social distancing to keep themselves safe and others as well from COVID-19.
He appealed to the common masses that they should follow the lockdown instructions and stay at home to be safe and help the government to break the chain of COVID-19.
He added that the delivery men like him are always ready for the help of every citizen and do their job at any cost.
