JKMEF condemns manhandling of health staff in Kalakote

JAMMU, May 3: Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF) has condemned an incident at Primary Health Centre (PHC) Saranoo in Kalakote wherein two female employees of the Health Department were allegedly manhandled.
In a meeting of the Federation held here today under the chairmanship of Sushil Sudan President JKMEF, the members expressed resentment against manhandling of Veerta Devi and Neelam Devi posted at PHC Saranoo in Block Kalakote of Districtt Rajouri by the local Sarpanch, her husband and others. Sushil Sudan has appealed to the District Administration Rajouri and DIG Rajouri to personally intervene into matter and demanded registration of FIR against the Sarpanch, her husband and others who have manhandled health employees while performing their duty.
Sudan informed that he has telephonically communicated to the Chief Medical Officer Rajouri and Block Medical Officer Kalakote to take up the matter with district administration and arrest of the culprits otherwise Federation has no option other than to proceed on strike.
He also demanded security of the health staff.
