SRINAGAR, May 3: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported the highest number of 51 Corona Virus deaths in the past 24 hours following which the death toll reached 2,421. With 3,733 new cases the total number of positive cases in the union territory reached 1, 87,219.
The Jammu division reported 35 deaths with the Kashmir division reporting 16 such deaths. Jammu district reported 24 fresh deaths followed by Srinagar district seven deaths, Rajouri district four deaths, Poonch, Ramban, Baramulla, Budgam, Kupwara and Kulgam districts two deaths each and Udhampur, Doda, Kathua & Ganderbal districts one death each.
Srinagar district reported 1136 fresh cases followed by Jammu district 584 cases, Pulwama district 296 cases, Baramulla district 232 cases, Samba district 209 cases, Budgam district 208 cases, Kulgam district 167 cases, Anantnag district 145 cases, Kathua district 112 cases, Rajouri district 111 cases, Reasi district 97 cases, Udhampur district 86 cases, Bandipora district 85 cases, Kupwara district 64 cases, Shopian district 55 cases, Ganderbal district 51 cases, Ramban district 44 cases, Poonch district 30 cases, Doda district 12 cases and Kishtwar district nine cases.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 3,733 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 1294 from Jammu division and 2439 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 87,219. Also 51 COVID-19 deaths have been reported, 35 from Jammu division and 16 from Kashmir division. Moreover, 1,536 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 626 from Jammu division and 910 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 87,219 positive cases, 34,567 are active positive, 1, 50,231 have recovered and 2,421 have died; 981in Jammu division and 1,440 in Kashmir division.
Out of 73, 80,302 test results available, 71, 93,083 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 18, 30,792 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 94,844 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 34,567 in isolation and 1, 18,264 in home surveillance. Besides, 15, 80,696 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 46,784 positive cases, 10,143 active positive, 36,081 recovered, 560 deaths; Baramulla has 13,768 positive cases, 2,683 active positive, 10,884 recovered, 201 deaths; Budgam has 11,315 positive cases, 1,803 active positive, 9,378 recovered, 134 deaths; Anantnag has 7,652 positive cases, 1,797 active positive, 5,744 recovered, 111 deaths; Pulwama has 7,628 positive cases, 1,366 active positive, 6,159 recovered, 103 deaths.
“Kupwara has 7,375 positive cases, 1,126 active positive, 6,145 recovered, 104 deaths; Bandipora has 5,687 positive cases, 581 active positive, 5,042 recovered, 64 deaths; Ganderbal has 5,655 positive cases, 611 active positive, 4,992 recovered, 52 deaths; Kulgam has 4,932 positive cases, 1,664 active positive, 3,199 recovered, 69 deaths and Shopian has 3,224 positive cases, 470 active positive, 2,712 recovered, 42 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 36,193 positive cases, 6,675 active positive, 28,984 recovered, 534 deaths; Udhampur has 6,384 positive cases, 731 active positive, 5,584 recovered, 69 deaths; Rajouri has 5,246 positive cases, 1,228 active positive, 3,945 recovered, 73 deaths; Kathua has 4,884 positive cases, 726 active positive, 4,092 recovered, 66 deaths; Samba has 4,102 positive cases, 1,176 active positive, 2,867 recovered, 59 deaths.
“Doda has 3,883 positive cases, 285 active positive, 3,529 recovered, 69 deaths; Reasi has 3,645 positive cases, 638 active positive, 2,987 recovered, 20 deaths; Poonch has 3,095 positive cases, 450 active positive, 2,606 recovered, 39 deaths; Kishtwar has 3,003 positive cases, 117 active positive, 2,864 recovered, 22 deaths and Ramban has 2,764 positive cases, 297 active positive, 2,437 recovered, 30 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
Out of 1, 87,219 positive cases in J&K, 19,757 have been reported as travelers.
