KISHTWAR, May 8: To mark the World Red Cross Day 2021, the District Red Cross Society (DRCS) Kishtwar, under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ashok Sharma, who is also its Chairman, today distributed the relief material comprising of the eatable items and other daily utility material among the beneficiaries of the Bal Ashram Kishtwar.
Joint Director Planning Mohammad Iqbal; ACR Kishtwar Akhter Hussain Qazi; DSWO, Traiq Parvez Qazi; Red Cross Secretary, Asgar Ali Sheikh; besides other officers and Volunteers were present on the occasion.
The packed material includes Haldi 10 Kg, Mirch Powder 1 Kg, Mustard Oil 48 ltr, Tea 20 Kg, Salt 25 Kg, Dal Chana 25 Kg, Sugar 50 Kg, Life-Boy Soap 30 nos and Rin Soap 30 nos. were handed over to the DSWO Kishtwar.
The DC Kishtwar who was the chief guest, highlighted the role of District Red Cross society Kishtwar during COVID 19 pandemic.
He said that RCS Kishtwar has played a proactive role in mitigating and managing the COVID 19 pandemic since its inception in the district.
The major highlights of their activities during the Lockdown period have been the free distribution of the face masks, sanitizers, eatables and other health and medical essentials at the door step of the poor and destitute, he reiterated.
Besides, the DC Kishtwar also appreciated the dedication of the volunteers in facilitating the emergency services to poor and affected ones round the clock in every nook and corner of the district.
