World Red Cross Day celebrated

Udhampur, May 8: Udhampur Red Cross society celebrated World Red cross day which comes every year on 8th May . This organization is always committed to humanitarian work both during peace and war.
Rakesh Singh Senior Volunteer member of Udhampur Red Cross society and his team distributed masks and immunity boosters Ayurvedic medicines to various offices and public and appealed them to observe all SOPs while performing different day to day and official works.
" It is a high time that we should fully follow the guidelines issued from time to time by District administration Udhampur regarding Covid Pandemic and also assist and Cooperate the administration to prevent this pandemic as per their capacity and role in the society" Singh added. This date is the anniversary of the birth of Henry Dunant, who was born on 8 May 1828. He was the founder of International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the recipient of the first Nobel Peace Prize.
The day also signifies appreciation for the volunteers who are always ready to help the needy. The theme this year is 'Together we are #unstoppable!'. Red Cross team of also facilitated and mobilized the masses for vaccination. Rakesh Singh also urged Director School Education Jammu to take necessary steps to activate Red Cross clubs in different govt schools to spread message of humanity through schools among society specially in rural areas.
