RS Pura , May 14: Government Degree College R. S. Pura organized an online Poetry Recitation Competition on the theme ‘India’s Cultural Heritage’ as part of the celebrations of ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’ under the guidance of Principal, Dr. G. S. Rakwal and supervision of Dr Anuradha, Convener, Cultural Committee. About 20 students of the college participated in the event and recited poems in different languages based on our historical monuments, traditions, local heroes etc. The event was judged by Prof. Esha Abrol, Prof. Jai Mala and Ms. Kajal Premi. Deepak Dogra of semester sixth was adjudged first in the competition whereas Smriti Sharma and Nikhil Kumar of semester second and Diksha Mehra and Neha Bharti of semester second were awarded second and third prize, respectively. Dr. Sheetal Sharma, member, cultural committee coordinated the entire programme.
Principal, Dr. G. S. Rakwal applauded the efforts put in by the committee and the participants and exhorted them to come up with more such initiatives in the future.
