5/14/2021 11:50:24 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, May 14: Govt. Degree College, Chenani commemorated the International Nurses Day on the theme Nurses: A Voice to Lead under the ‘Placement Cell’ of the College. The activity was held as part of the Manodarpan Initiative of MHRD, Govt. of India. This day is marked as the anniversary of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. The main aim was to honour the nurses who act as caretakers of the whole world and to pay a tribute to them for their vital role in the society. Nurses are always at the forefront of fighting epidemics and pandemics. The present Covid-19 pandemic is a reminder of this important role that nurses play.
The students were taught that beyond the time-honored reputation for compassion and dedication lies a highly specialized profession, which is constantly evolving to address the needs of society. From ensuring the most accurate diagnoses to the ongoing education of the public about critical health issues; nurses are indispensable in safeguarding public health. The students of the College celebrated the day by making banners, posters and artworks to show the importance of nurses and their profession in today’s world. Dr. Pragya Khanna, Principal of the College stated that Nursing is a great profession that has the ability to transform the health of the society and the country as a whole. The organisers of the program were Prof. Mir Hafeez, Prof. Sunil Kumar and Manya Gupta.
