Stephens College of Nursing celebrates International Nurses Day

Jammu , May 14: Stephens College of Nursing (Under the aegis of Dr. Aparna Educational Trust) observed International Nurses day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale who was an English social reformer, statistician and founder of modern nursing.
Due to prevailing situation of COVID-19, the Nursing Day was celebrated via virtual mode with enthusiasm fervor by the Administration, Faculty Members and student while sitting at home and following the SOP’s of COVID-19.
Manoj Kotru (Administrator SCON) planted a tree to pay homage to the noblest soul Florence Nightingale and to contribute Mother Nature. He motivated the students to contribute whole heartedly and serve humanity selflessly and with nobility Muni Dhar (Principal SCON) explained the theme of Nursing Day i.e. A voice to lead- A vision for future healthcare, importance and role of a nurse in today’s society as nurses acted as cynosure at this time of COVID Pandemic. She emphasized on the selfless service done by Florence Nightingale. Kheema Peshin (Vice- Principal SCON) also wished everyone and motivated everyone to pray for the eternal peace.
Ritu Gupta (Associate Professor) recited a poem to honour all the nurses who work dedicatedly and selflessly and to commezlorate Florence Nightingale.
Sarla Raina (Associate Professor) explained about the importance of Nurses Day. Ms Khusboo (Academic Administrator) delivered a speech explaining the importance of Nurses Day
Panakj Rana of Post Basic B.Sc.(N) 2nd year distributed sapling worth Rs. 5000 to the people and motivated them to plant those sapling to contribute and save mother nature.
He also organized a medical camp and serve people selflessly and enthusiastically.
