661 Oxygen supported bed capacity created in 8 Covid Care Centres in Udhampur district: DC

UDHAMPUR, MAY,15: District administration Udhampur has created 661 Oxygen-bed capacity in 8 Covid Care Centres across the District.
The district has a stock of as many as 292 D-type Oxygen cylinders, 468 B-type, 111 oxygen concentrators and 51 ventilators, said Deputy Commissioner, Indu Kanwal Chib during a media briefing, here today.
She further added that the district has restored one old oxygen generation plant in the industrial area while a new oxygen generator is under construction in the premises of District hospital.
She said that due to a spike in Covid cases in the past few weeks, the consumption has risen to 65-70 cylinders per day compared to just 30-32 per day earlier. She revealed that the district is supplying oxygen to Narayana hospital, Government medical college, Jammu and Ramban. She appealed to the general masses not to hide sickness and come forward for testing and if they have any symptoms consult an expert by calling on given helpline numbers: 01992-272725 or 272729 . The DC informed that the situation of pandemic has not worsened and the spike in corona cases is under control. She also informed that the District has received 500 kits which are being distributed among the Covid positive patients.
