Adequate Covid care measures taken by Kishtwar administration: DC

KISHTWAR, May15: District administration Kishtwar has created 105 high flow oxygen supported beds for managing the treatment of Covid positive patients.
“Out of these only 21 are occupied. Besides this 550 bed capacity has been established across the district at various designated COVID care centres and the district administration is mulling to increase the capacity in future” said Deputy Commissioner, Ashok Sharma today here at a press conference where he was briefing the media persons about the current Covid scenario in the district.
At the outset, he welcomed the media persons and appreciated their role in providing true information to the masses and disseminating the awareness about the Corona pandemic among the masses.
He further informed that till date 3488 cases of the COVID19 virus infection have been reported in the district out of which 3064 cases have recovered.
“During the 2nd wave, the district witnessed a major spike with a total 753 cases since 1st of March 2021, out of which 308 have recovered and 04 patients with co-morbidity have died,” he added.
He further informed that at present 21 COVID positive patients are admitted in district hospital and 34 are under the medical supervision at the Covid care centres.
To effectively deal with the upsurge, 19 areas have been notified as containment zones, he added.
