5/16/2021 12:02:01 AM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, May 15: Expressing serious concern over the more mortality rate per day in Jammu region, Convenor, United Democratic Alliance, Rajiv Mahajan urged the Lt Government, Manoj Sinha to transfer senior and experienced doctors from far-flung areas of the Jammu division to Major Hospitals to provide proper treatment to combat death rate in Jammu.
“We demand to transfer immediately senior doctors to Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu, Chest Disease (CD), Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar, where COVID-19 patients suffer due to non-availability of senior doctors,” Rajiv Mahajan said in a statement issued today.
“Even as senior and experienced government doctors remain at far-flung areas in Jammu division and families of COVID patients in GMC Jammu desperate for reliable medical advice. Given the obvious demand for medical consultation on COVID, the government should be using such senior doctors for public facilities. “It could provide relief to hundreds of patients,” said Rajiv Mahajan adding that senior faculty was managing departments remotely.
“Why can’t the J&K government ensure a 24x7 help for senior doctors in GMC Jammu where number of deaths increased day by day,” he said.
He added that senior doctors could be very important so that people didn’t face any hardship during visit to GMC Jammu and other COVID Hospitals.
