Jammu, May 15: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta has appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory to keep patience and cooperate with the administration to support the measures initiated to win the battle against COVID-19 pandemic.
He made this appeal while interacting with people at a COVID-19 test centre here today.
The former Dy CM accompanied by Corporator and Mandal President Lucky Neeraj Puri and District Secretary Sanjay Gupta today visited various Corona testing centers and took stock of the problems being faced by the people visiting these centres.
While seeking people’s support and cooperation in the hour of crisis, Kavinder said that the Govt is committed to ensure welfare measures for the people and these testing centres have been opened with the aim to contain spread of Covid-19 virus.
He advised the people at these centres to get themselves enrolled themselves for the vaccination.
Acknowledging the shortage of vaccines presently, Kavinder assured them that the shortage of vaccination will be done away with very soon as the administration is making all efforts to procure the substantial number of vaccines so that none suffers due to the vaccine shortage.
He said that the Union Health Ministry which is monitoring the situation 24x7, has informed that there will be availability of a large quantity of vaccines very shortly.
Kavinder reminded the people to be fully prepared for battle against the pandemic and not forget that vaccination is the only weapon to win this battle.
Referring to NHM report he said, it has been proved that during the past 29 days, 93 per cent of those dead in J&K due to corona were not vaccinated while 7 per cent of dead had received only a single jab of the vaccine.
He urged people to understand the significance of vaccination and take jab of vaccination at the earliest.
